PRESS RELEASE, Nashville, TN: New Carter Brothers CD, "Cedarhouse," Available Now!
Hi folks, well the big news with the Brothers is our new long awaited record. This one seems to be a journey of our musical career, starting back to 1980 when we were just little pickers playing for ski resorts in the mountains of North Carolina. We were a duo then, playing traditional bluegrass tunes, eventually evolving into a full fledged rock-bluegrass band. This record pulls from what we are about, while clinging to an acoustic format. The fine balance of being a bluegrass band and a rock band in there truest forms have always been a challenge for us. We knew that when the studio was completed there would be no stopping us from producing music from the soul as we have always wanted. With no artistic restraints and no time limitations to worry about we are completely free to create and record at will. We decided for the new and upcoming "Cedarhouse" CD that we wanted to culminate our career from the beginning up to this point.. We've always been mystisized by latin rhythms...especially in the past few years so you will hear our versions of original and cover tunes in that format. Also, we harken back to our bluegrass, folk~rock and country blues roots.
Our longtime good friend and extremely talented bassist Ross Sermons plays on all the tracks so there is a consistent feel to all the songs. Ourselves, along with Ross ,are the "core" part of the Carter Brothers sound which leaves us free to bring in other players for recording and live shows while maintaining that "Brothers Groove Thang".
Speaking of bringing in other players, the upcoming "Cedarhouse" CD is just full of 'em! Good friends and ultra talented players that we have long admired on this recording. The process of choosing who would play on certain tracks was well thought out as to accomodate each musicians considerable talents. Here is a players list in no particular order:

There will also be a second CD available called "Summervilla". A bluegrass recording concieved by Ross Sermons. It was recorded two years ago in North Carolina in an old cotton plantation home called Summervilla(circa: 1850's) that has been in the Ross family since then and preserved to this very day by the family. It was a very, very inspiring and mystical week spent there with many fine players. Some of the tunes were actually written on the spot and recorded immediately! The Carter Brothers are on many of the tracks together and seperately.
The new "Cedarhouse" CD is available now!
A very special thank you to our family, friends and and Carter Brothers fans for your continued support and belief in our journey!
