STAN HITCHCOCK INDUCTED INTO
MISSOURI COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME
Hendersonville, TN - BlueHighways TV today announced that Chairman and CEO Stan Hitchcock was inducted into the Missouri Country Music Hall of Fame during a gala ceremony on May 21st at the Lake of The Ozarks in Osage Beach, Missouri. The Missouri Country Music Hall of Fame honors Missouri's musicians, vocalists, songwriters, broadcasters, comedians and other music professionals who have made significant contributions to country music around the world. Along with Stan Hitchcock, the 2006 Hall of Fame honorees include Ferlin Husky, Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Porter Wagoner, Smokey Smith, Leon Rausch, and Roy Queen and Wynn Stewart, posthumously.
A native of the Missouri Ozarks, Stan Hitchcock began his career as a recording artist for Columbia's Epic Records, releasing 12 albums with many charted single records released worldwide. At the height of his recording career he applied his talents to television, first with the nationally syndicated The Stan Hitchcock Show from 1967-1971 and Stan Hitchcock From The Ozarks from 1979-1983. Stan headed up the founding team of Country Music Television (CMT) from its start in 1983 to 1991 when it was purchased by Gaylord Entertainment. While at CMT, Stan gave a "video start" to many recording artists who had yet to be played on radio. Stan also founded the original Americana Television Network which he sold to Liberty Media in 1995. Stan developed Network Creative Group in 2003, and, in 2004, he and his team started BlueHighways TV.
